Fontanilles II House
Renovation of an existing building in a rural setting, strictly maintaining the perimeter and volume of the original construction. To reduce the visual impact of the building on its surroundings, three clear strategies were employed:
Designing a façade with pergolas and landscaped porches to integrate the building and shield it from solar radiation.
Changing the orientation and pitch of the roof to match the terrain.
Using local materials to achieve maximum integration with the environment.
With the assistance of a program defined by the client, we aimed to bring order and coherence to an existing structure that had been the result of an anarchic addition of volumes. The outcome is a home with a layout that combines the living room, dining area, and kitchen into a single space, and includes two bedrooms with their respective bathrooms.
