Located in a semi-basement space in the Eixample district of Barcelona, the challenge was to make use of the courtyards as potential sources of natural light. The goal was to create a fluid space within a framework of walls, resulting in an area that, while segmented, is perceived as a unified environment.

The project involved renovating and designing a workspace for a group of 8 to 12 people, aiming to avoid the confinement of spaces and instead allowing the space to flow from the entrance to the furthest room while preserving the building’s original load-bearing walls.

The client provided considerable freedom in organizing the spaces, so the initial proposal was maintained, which took into account the following factors:

The limited potential for natural lighting
The geometric conditions of the space, which, being part of an early 20th-century Eixample building, was characterized by being deep and narrow
The feasibility of creating open workspaces and integrating common areas such as an office/café within the work environment
