Barcelona Global headquarters

In the modernist building Casa Sayrach, of astonishing beauty, the offices of Barcelona Global are housed. The architect, Manuel Sayrach i Carreras, designed every corner of the property so that it is a unique work of art. Changing any detail of the office space would have been sacrilegious. Consequently, the project focused solely on preserving what existed, enhancing subtle details that might otherwise go unnoticed, and restoring the deteriorated parts.

The office spaces, including private offices, meeting rooms, shared offices, a kitchenette, and restrooms, were adapted to the original geometry of the floor, repurposing what was previously designated as living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms, among other uses. It is intriguing to see how easily the new activity has adapted to a space originally conceived as a residence.

What does our project contribute to a space that, at first glance, already has it all?

Our contribution lies primarily in differentiating between the façade spaces and the interior spaces. The interior spaces, mainly reception/entry, circulation, and distribution areas, are painted in dark tones. The façade rooms are painted in white. The hallway transforms into a small gallery where colorful paintings gain prominence thanks to focused lighting and the overall darkness of the space. The perimeter rooms become spaces of light.

The real achievement of this project is the distribution of electrical, telecommunications, and climate control systems without affecting the original aesthetics of the spaces.
